Nicholas County
Heritage Museum
The Old Main Foundation has converted classrooms in the former Nicholas County High School building into six museum rooms. These rooms have been outfitted to display the history, culture, and heritage of the region through those who have graduated from Nicholas County High School, are from the Summersville area, or have donated a one of a kind artifact.

We offer a unique experience with a variety of exhibits showcasing taxidermy mounts of wild animals and game from different continents, a depression-era home, military memorabilia contributed by Old Main Alums, WV artifacts and history, and our WV library with our school annuals and other historic books.

Strolling through the halls and classrooms of the former Nicholas County High School provides one with a nostalgic feel for the ambience of an earlier era. Come explore this truly unique heritage opportunity in a beautiful setting which overlooks downtown Summersville!
